On paper, if you put the Miami Heat and Sacramento Kings in a comparison, it is afe to assume that the Heat have advantages all across the board.
Wednesday night pitted both teams at American Airlines Arena and again, on paper, this game should’ve been a mismatch.
Mismatch mayhave been too kind a word as Miami exploded for 35 first-quarter points, easily making quick work of Sacramento 117-97. The victory was the Heat’s third straight while the Kings have dropped three consecutive contests.
Miami made seven straight baskets on their way to a 64 percent first quarter, setting the stage for the subsequent thrashing. Sacramento, to illustrate how quickly this game got out of hand, was down 44-19 before the game was 15 minutes old, and when LeBron James made consecutive jumpers 36 seconds apart in the second, the Heat lead had increased to 56-30.
Miami would take a very comfortable 63-44 led into their locker room at the intermission; the third and fourth quarters were musch closer, but the issue was settled long ago.
The Big Three, as on most nights, set the tone in the scoring column as the Heat were led by James with 31 points (including three 3-pointers), along with 8 rebounds and 3 assists while Dwyane Wade added 23 with 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and a block. Chris Bosh chipped in 22 with 9 rebounds, an assist, 4 steals and a block.
The Kings were led by Samuel Dalembert, who came off the bench to score 18, along with 13 rebounds and 2 assists while Jermaine Taylor and Jason Thompson each added 13 – with Taylor grabbing 2 rebounds along with a steal, while Thompson grabbed 7 boards.
Miami (42-15) plays again on Thursday night when they travel to Chicago to take on the Bulls while Sacramento (13-41) travels north to Orlando to face the Magic on Wednesday.
