Kevin Garnett’s Opportunity To Prepare For April
Murphy is a guy who can stretch the floor and rebound the rock extremely well. Expect Troy to contribute and pay big dividends for Boston’s second unit.
According to ESPN, power forward Troy Murphy noted through e-mail that he will sign with Boston after spending time contemplating between Celtics and Heat the past two days.
Murphy was bought out by the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. It was almost believed to be a slam dunk that Miami would have scooped up the experienced lefty, upon adding point guard Mike Bibby (Washington) to the roster. Many around the Association seemed to think it was only fitting he would choose to accompany LeBron, Wade, and Bosh in their title pursuit.
The Notre Dame product (’01 draft, 14th overall) has played in more contests (639) than any other active player without tasting the NBA Playoffs. At 6-11, 245 pounds, Murphy will bring much-needed size and energy to K.G. and the Celtics front line.
This is yet, another stellar move made by GM Danny Ainge and the defending Eastern Conference champions.
News concerning Bibby-Heat connection: According to ESPN’s Michael Wallace, who covers the Heat, PG Carlos Arroyo is not with the team for Tuesday’s practice. This making the Bibby to Miami rumors all but true and as good as gold.
