Combined Playoff Losses Of NBA Conference Champions

Above is the table of the combined playoff losses of NBA conference champs since the NBA’s playoff expansion in 1984.

A closer look at the table according to Russ Loede:

Of the Finals match-ups that had less losses than Miami-Dallas, the Eastern Conference team won the championship in all but one series (1999, New York-San Antonio).

Of the five series, one had a sweep, two went five games, and the other two went six.

Take away what you want from Deron’s research, history says this series may be over soon in Miami’s favor.
