South Beach Firepower: Heat Too Hot For Mavs To Handle; Capture Game One 92-84

LeBron Played A Game-High 45 Minutes

The Mavs hadn’t faced an aggressive defense this Playoffs like the one they faced in Game one Tuesday.

“You hold a team to 38 percent shooting and 92 points, for us, that’s usually a victory,” Mavs forward Shawn Marion said.  It was that type of game.

Many consider the Heat’s style to be lots of flash and little substance.  Guess again.

Not only did the Mavs bench get outscored 27-17, but the Heat held them to a lowly 37 percent from the field.

And when the game is tight, intense, and on the line you always give the edge to the team with two elite crunch time players.

“They have two very good closers,” Dirk Nowitzki, who was held to 7-18 shooting, said, “two of the best in the game.”

“For me, going into the fourth quarter, it’s winning time,” LeBron James said.  LeBron and Wade combined for 29 points in the pivotal 2nd half.
