Heat-Mavs Game Five Aftermath

LeBron Registered A Triple-Double In Game Five

  • The trio of guards from Dallas; Barea, Kidd, and Terry, connected on 10 attempts from distance.  As a team, the Mavs made 13 three-pointers, good for 2nd best in Finals history.  51 points for the trio makes Mark Cuban’s guys close to unbeatable.  In the final 12 minutes of play, they combined for 5-7 shooting and 20 points.  Four of the five field goals, were from beyond the arc.  If your Miami, you let Dirk be a one-man show, seeing it’s hard to slow him down, while containing the trio of guards; especially Barea and Terry.
  • On the seven possessions following Wade’s triple to give the Heat a 99-95 advantage with 4:37 left in the fourth, Miami missed their next three shots and committed three turnovers.  It was the deciding stretch of the game, as the home squad outscored the visitors 13-2 during the all-important span.  It seems like we go through the same drill, game after game, where the Mavs turn it up a notch after the Heat take a lead late.  The reason for this: high-percentage shots/open looks.  Also, you can guarantee Dirk and friends will make all their freebies from the charity stripe.  Talk about an almost flawless close-out group, which executes their offensive game plan to near perfection.

Has anyone else noticed that the announcers and the referees are really playing favorites? Have you listened to the announcers? Any time Miami makes any kind of play it is like “WOW” but when Dallas makes a great play? Not so much. You can hear the difference in the tone and it is just not right.

Same goes with the refs. Charges being called blocks. Fouls not being called. Personally, I appreciate the refs letting them play — there is a lot of pushing and shoving and moving screens. But they need to be consistent on their calls.

I have been getting really sickened by the bias, and the Network and the League need to set in and make sure that the games are being called fairly.

I haven’t noticed because I’ve been so caught up into the game. This has been one of the best Finals ever. And I tend to be hard on this era and side with the past. Yet, this Finals and last year’s Lakers-Celtics have been absolute thrillers!

It has just been so intense and down-to-the-wire, that I forget to listen to the announcers. I usually tune them out, even though I’m a big fan of Van Gundy and also like Jackson.

Breen gets to be annoying at times, but he’s still decent.

The games are definitely being called fairly. That charge on LeBron was a fortunate one for Dallas to have. It should’ve been “And-1″ and Bron on the line with Miami going for the lead 103-102.

I see consistency with both the Heat and Mavs getting calls.

I also believe the “WOW” factor is there with Dirk and Barea, just like it is with Wade and whenever LeBron does something, when he does. I don’t remember all too well when that happens…
