Meet Our Staff
Russ Loede – Site Editor:
A true fanatic of Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon, “Pistol” Pete Maravich, Kobe Bryant, Kemba Walker, and the age of the “New Generation” point guard. Got hooked to the Association during the birth of “Clutch City”, an era where he became obsessed with the Houston Rockets during their back-to-back NBA Championships. Currently doing time in the U.S. Army (since ’06). When it’s not hoops, Russ puts in extensive work as the NFC editor at NFL Gridiron Gab and does his thing strong at Bears Gab. His insight is not only limited to the professional level, as it expands to the collegiate side of sports, where he has developed a passion for the NBA and NFL Draft by watching college basketball and football. There’s not a debate which Russ will back down from, and never a discussion that he will elude when it comes to talking hoops. He welcomes any worthwhile conversation or challenge when comparing “Dream” and Shaq, “Pistol Pete” against any PG, and Kobe vs. Jordan. If it’s “Worthy” like “Big Game James”, he will not avoid it! Lastly, he will be covering the Cleveland Cavaliers this season for the Associated Press.
Paul Miller – Columnist:
Paul Miller is a 28-year-old television producer with an undefined love for the game of Basketball. When he is not hitting 3-point shots out on the court, Paul is talking or writing about his love for the game. Living in New York all his life, he is in no doubt one of the most passionate New York Knick fans there is. Whether it’s watching the games live at Madison Square Garden, or at home on the television, Paul is never shy to give his two cents about the team. He will admit it’s been a tough ten years to be a Knicks fan, but hopes that better things (and players) are to come.
Gregory Dix – Columnist:
Gregory Dix lives outside of Philadelphia. He is a pharmacist so during his downtime he follows his true passion- writing for Slam Dunk Central! He just missed the era of Doc and Wilt. So as a lifelong 76ers fan you could understand his resentment of Harold Katz who NEVER surrounded Barkley with a legit chance to win a title. His frustration continued with the soap opera of Larry Brown and Allen Iverson. Etched in his mind is the classic quote of Allen Iverson “Its practice man, just practice, not a game, practice!” These experiences give Greg a unique perspective of what it takes to become a champion in the NBA.
Matt Loede – Reporter:
If you are familiar with Cleveland Sports, than you are familiar with Matt Loede. Loede, has been covering MLB, NFL, and the NBA, since the mid-nineties in Cleveland. Chances are if there is a professional sporting event going on in Cleveland, Loede is probably on some National Network reporting from it. Former Co-Host of the “Big Show” with Jeff Sack, voted Cleveland’s Best Sports Talk Show. Matt is the Co-Founder and Managing Editor of the NFL Sports Gab Network.
Michael Blasko – Columnist:
Michael has always been a huge NBA fan. He and his wife, Amy, are big supporters of both the Boston Celtics and the Phoenix Suns. Michael is currently a college student studying business marketing and preparing for a career in sports marketing. He operates his own website about the NBA, PlanetBBall.com, and loves writing about the league and anything associated with basketball.
Troy Ballard – Columnist:
Troy is a relatively unaligned NBA fan, as he now lives in Salt Lake City and attends the University of Utah. A recent transfer from Penn State, he lived in the Philadelphia area for his entire life and supported all Philadelphia sports. It’s a draw between the 76ers and Jazz, and Troy chooses to support both of them. Primarily a writer for the NFL, and EaglesGab.com, he is trying to provide his opinion and provide quality articles for NBA fans. Relatively new to the world of basketball, within the past five years, he is catching on quickly and learning more every day.
