Stoudemire’s 25 leads Suns past undermanned Knicks 113-102

Terry’s 25 leads Mavericks past 76ers 99-84

Nets’ Carter out indefinitely
In what has to be a major blow to the New Jersey Nets, swingman Vince Carter, according to the Associated Press, will be sidelined indefinitely with what has been described as a “Grade 1″ sprain of his right ankle. A MRI confirmed the sprain; there’s no timetable for Carter’s return.

Nets’ Carter to get MRI on bum ankle

Heat win first game, beat Knicks 75-72
The Miami Heat finally got off the schneid, winning their first game by defeating the New York Knicks 75-72. The game itself was rather uninspiring, offensively. Neither team shot especially well; New York shooting 37.3% from the floor, with Miami doing only a little better, shooting 43.8%.
