The Cleveland Cavaliers let their fans celebrate Thanksgiving Wednesday night, as the Cavaliers shot an astronomical 60.8% (45-74) from the floor for the game as they totally embarrassed the Oklahoma City Thunder 117-82. Both teams playing in the second of back to back games were a study of contrasts on the floor. Cleveland looked, totally in charge, where as the Thunder looked lost from the opening seconds of the game.

The Cavaliers were ahead at the end of the first 33-14, and things did not get a whole lot better for OKC the rest of the game. The second quarter was much like the first as the score was 66-32 at the half. Bad decision, by Scott as the Thunder trailed at the end of three quarters 92-52. The fourth quarter was just more garbage time as Oklahoma City were able to shave five points off the lead for the final score.

Filed Under NBA Game Recap | Leave a Comment

What all the so called “experts” in the media who are predicting that Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James is a lead pipe cinch to sign a contract with the New York Knicks in 2010 seem to forget was very apparent at MSG Tuesday night. The Knicks are a terrible team, where as the Cavaliers are one of the elite teams in the NBA Eastern Conference. For a player the caliber of James who is all about winning a title, does it make any sense to go to a team further away from attaining that goal? LBJ and his teammates showed that the Knickerbockers did not belong on the same court as they defeated them 119-101, in a game that was not as close as the final score indicates. This was a thumping from beginning to end.
Cleveland jumped out on top of New York in the first quarter 34-22. By the half they had pushed the lead to 67-38. Apparently Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni did not feel his team suffered enough punishment in the first two quarters and decided to bring them out for the third. The results were no better for his team as they trailed heading into the fourth 95-66. The fourth quarter was 12 minutes of garbage time, in which New York made the final score more respectable.
The Cavaliers shot 52.7% (48-91) from the floor for the game. LeBron James played just 30 minutes, and was the leading scorer in the contest with 26 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block. Delonte West added 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist, Wally Sczczerbiak came off the bench and had 15 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal. Zydrunas Ilgauskas recorded a double-double, 11 points, 10 boards, 3 assists, Anderson Varejao also had 11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Daniel Gibson came off the pine and put in 10 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, rookie J.J. Hickson also added 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block.
Quentin Richardson led the Knicks with 22 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. The new guys did a nice job for New York, starting with Tim Thomas, who came off the bench and had 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, Chris Duhon scored 14 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds. Al Harrington put in 13 points, off of the bench, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, David Lee recorded a double-double, 12 points, 13 boards, 1 assist. Wilson Chandler contributed 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, Anthony Roberson also had 10 points, 2 assists. Cleveland with the win now has a record of 11-3, New York is 7-7.
