Earlier this week Miami Heat point guard Dwyane Wade called out teammate Shaquille O’Neal saying that the team’s center had to step up his game. Well not only O’Neal follow D-Wade’s advice, the point guard took it to the next level as well as Miami defeated the Houston Rockets Friday night 98-91.?

Both?Wade who just returned to the lineup this week after recovering from knee and shoulder surgery and O’Neal had their best games of the young season.?Wade led all scorers with 31 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds, while O’Neal had a double-double with 26 points, ?14 rebounds, 3 blocked shots, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Ricky Davis added 12 points for Miami, while Udonis Haslem had 11 points, and grabbed 8 boards.

Houston who has now lost their sixth consecutive game were led by center Yao Ming, and?Luis Scola who?each had 20 points, with Scola getting 9 rebounds and?3 assists. Yao trailed?Scola in both categories, grabbing?only 7 boards and 2 assists, as he fouled out of the game. Tracy McGrady had 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, he was the only other Houston player in double figures. The Heat improves to a record of 3-9, while Houston falls to 6-7.
